They Boldly Went is a tumblr devoted to Star Trek: The Original Series. It is maintained by Kevin Church.

The original art from the unused Steve Chorney poster for Star Trek VI is available on eBay.

It is $20,000.

If you just tripped over a stack of cash, this Keith Birdsong cover painting for Gene Roddenberry & Susan Sackett’s never-released Star Trek: The First 25 Years is going for $6,600 on eBay.
Or, you know, you could buy it for me. I’m a pretty nice...

The book is an interesting lost media item for the franchise; copyright for some of the art couldn’t be obtained so Pocket Books and Paramount decided to scrap the whole thing. Chunks of it would later appear in the (frankly inconsequential) coffee table book Star Trek: Where No One Has Gone Before, credited to J.M. Dillard with a “thank you” to Sackett.

Two paintings of James T. Kirk by comics great Steve Rude. They’re available on his site for $5000 and $2500, respectively.

Some of Syd Mead’s concept paintings for V’Ger from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. His first pieces of movie concept art, they’re the direct result of director Robert Wise’s demand that the movie show an object that “no man had ever seen.”

A copy of that poster (which featured art originally used for The Monster Times #2) with “edge wear and light paper tanning” but “otherwise in Very Good condition” sold for $62 on Heritage Auctions in 2015.

(Sorry to post this, but since this was anonymous, there was no way for me to respond.)

Here’s the poster, btw. It’s a humdinger.
